HEARTBEAT
HEARTBEAT - Made by xsticcydev under 1 week for Jame Gam #59 (Theme: Unstoppable. Special object: Engine.)
Welcome to HEARTBEAT!
This is a prototype game about warrior who goes down into a dungeon, fighting numerous enemies on the way.
PLAY IN FULLSCREEN!
_________
Gameplay info:
HEARTBEAT includes a special, innovative fighting style. Alongside your HP, you need to watch out for your "heart". Your heart needs fuel, to keep running (like... it's your engine that keeps you alive). Whenever you fill up your heart, it can go overdrive by unleashing a special attack. During a special attack, time slows down around you, and in this state, you are truly unstoppable.
A special attack in a predefined attack pattern that you can place down on the map. The point is to optimize your placement, so you can get the most damage done in a single attack. Currently there are 3 special attacks in the game (Psss... I didn't have time to design enough levels, so you will only really use two of them...)

Note:
This is my first ever game jam, and first ever published game!! Please let me know what you think of the concept, as this is mostly a prototype...
Made with Godot!
_________
Known bugs/issues:
- You can get stuck on the walls. Use WASD to get away, then you can dash normally.
- If you get damaged just as you are unleashing a special attack, the screen is pixelated. This is because getting hit pixelates your screen (it looks cool).
- Might have a little steep learning curve for a game jam game, but I really tried to keep the difficulty manageable...

Fun but wouldn't it be better if the entire movement was based on just dashing so no wasd, i dont know nice game though
thanks! That was the original movement system actually.
I added WASD since it really helps with making minor adjustments to your movement when dodging enemies. Pretty sure you can try using only dashing, cuz its difficult to run out of heart fuel anyway after you complete the tutorial level.
Knew it, cause the dash was so good to use
gg, very good game
